It was my fault. I know he's very protective of his pen.
He had backed into a corner of it after I walked him, and I came up to him to remove his leash.
Never put your hand in front of a cornered dog who was abused terribly when it was young.
I should have called him out of the corner before reaching under his chin to remove the leash.
Lucky for me he isn't all that vicious, people could be calling me 'Stumpy' now.

ReplyDeleteAmazingly, it really did not hurt, other than when his teeth were actually in my skin. I did take one vodka later in the evening, but not for pain.
