I don't know why, but when
the television DVR (digital video recorder) has more than fifty percent usage, I
get uneasy. Most of the DVR space is used up by Mark's cooking shows and
housewives shows. Anyway, the usage went up over fifty percent yesterday so
Mark and I spent Thursday night catching up on shows that had been recorded.
Here are a couple of things that I noticed last night. First, a number of
comedy shows that I watch, specifically Louie
and Legit aren't that funny anymore.
In Louie, Louie has a long
conversation about dating fat women, with a fat woman. It wasn't funny so much
as uncomfortable seeing as I am now the fat girl in my life. On the show Legit, the star of the show Jim
Jefferies, gets shot. Again, I wasn't amused. Besides those two shows, we
caught up on Jeopardy and Modern Family. Which brings me to the
second thing I realized last night, television ad breaks are much, much longer
than they used to be. It used to be that you had just enough time to either go
pee, or go get a cookie and a glass of milk from the kitchen, but not do both. Now as soon as
the ad break comes on, you can still go pee, even if you have a giant swollen prostate and it takes five minutes to trickle out your
bladder, and then still have time left over to mix yourself a cocktail. But of course
I'm watching television from a DVR and I can simply pause the shows while I go
do those things, so there's no real
problem with that giant prostate of mine.
This post made me have to pee, drink, and want to check my DVR.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet it doesn't take you five minutes to pee. No such thing as a lady prostate.
ReplyDeleteOnce I had to pee so bad for so long that I timed it when I finally got to go. One minute of peeing. Strong. Steady. Stream. It felt so good I cried.
ReplyDeleteMy husband always complains about the commercial breaks in the US. And they ARE long. Sorry to hear that Louie isn't so funny anymore. I bought season 1 DVD and we like that show. I won't bother with the other seasons.
ReplyDeleteWe're now watching House of Cards on Netflix. Oh my Gawd.
Kim, I'm not saying Louie isn't interesting. He just seems to have got a bit more serious. You should definitely watch the other seasons. I also am slowly going through the new season of House of Cards. I'm pretty sure that reality isn't much different than what is portrayed on House of Cards.
ReplyDeleteHostess, I cry when I pee, and not because it feels so good.
