Their special day was March 6,1943. Because of that, here we all are!! Notice the snow on the ground...there was a big snowstorm that day. They had no cars and no cabs were running. Mom walked through the snow-filled streets to St. Augustine's in her pretty little high heels, the first of many sacrifices!
Interesting to note, if you look up my parents marriage certificate, http://www.deathindexes.com/illinois/cook.html , it says it was filed on the 20th of March.

ReplyDeleteDo you file for a marriage certificate before the marriage? Or, do you get married, get a certificate from the facilitator and then file it? Hmmm?
