Photo Friday

Photo by Garet (or possibly Garett)

Summer 1988, on Lake Michigan. Chicago in the background. My brother on the left, me on the right, all puffy from chemo, sailing around on our sailboat. Nice sun glasses, hey?

  1. Eww. Billy Corgan looks creepy. I look creepy in that photo because I was just finishing up with twelve weeks of chemo therapy, and it caused me to lose all, and I mean all, of my hair, and puff up like the Michelin man. But I do see the resemblance.

  3. Al, great picture. It covers up what chemo did to your body. Bald head and extended belly. You are a survivor of cancer. Whenever someone is down during chemo, I always point to you and it never fails to inspire them to continue.

  4. I have been telling everyone on my Relay for Life team that you are an inspiration to anyone who gets diagnosed with cancer. And when you went through your chemo it was way worse than it is today. I know how bad Don felt, but he never lost his hair or turned into the Michelan man. So happy you are still around to write this blog!
    love ya!

  5. You are more of an inspiration to people going through chemo than you know.

  6. I guess it makes aging look sooooo much better when one realizes what a gift our lives are! Chemo made you smooth as a baby from head to toe and gave you all these years to entertain all of us!
