"Here's your dog. Sign here, and here."
"You don't clean the dogs up before you do surgery on them?"
The lady at the counter looked up at me as if I had just said Fidel Castro was walking through the door.
"No, we don't bathe them."
"My god she's filthy. We're bringing her to the groomers tomorrow anyway." I said.
"No, no groomer, no bath for ten days." She instructed us.
So for ten days we will have a very smelly little dog in our home. She is very scared right now, and I would think a nice bath would make her feel better. However, I will wait... til maybe Saturday.
More of Bette
Ooohhh Bette, I love it! I love her how adorable is she already? Poor Bette no wash for a while and even before surgery, such a fabulous thing that she has come to live with you guys now :-)
ReplyDeleteThank god you saved her! She is adorable and I love the name. Bette. What a lucky, lucky puppy. Congratulations you guys.
ReplyDeleteShe will be bathed in love until Saturday!
ReplyDeleteAW!!!! She is adorable!! Congrats and good for you guys :)
ReplyDeleteWait...so soon....what happened to the.... I mean its only been a week.... a new replacement pup already... hmmm I wonder...what if one of you two passed away...maybe a new man will be moving in as the replacement in a week or so...maybe... hmmmm?
ReplyDeleteIs that Alicia talking to Bette in the film?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, I actually wasn't in a hurry to get another dog. Bette isn't a replacement. What she is, is a sweet little thing that I realized deserved to live. We had an opening where we could afford to save another dog, so we did. Mark found Bette on the internet. She was in a high kill facility, so I agreed to go look at her. By taking Bette from the Miami/Dade County Dog Pound we saved a life. Sasha would be very happy if she was alive, and if she was mentally cognizant of such a thing. Just as we saved Sasha, Chandler, and the two cats that live in my back yard, we saved Bette. Turns out she's a spectacular dog. Smart, affectionate, and Chandler really likes her.
ReplyDeleteGr8 Scott, I think so. Hard to tell when they are speaking dog talk.
ReplyDeleteWhy must some people insist on commenting on what another person's grief should look like? It seems to me that if you have never truly loved a pet you cannot judge another person's means of coping...and you should certainly not compare the love for a pet for romantic love. Unacceptable anonymous.
ReplyDeleteOMG Anonymous....stop posting your ignorant comments if you can't own up to them by signing your name! As I said before, Sasha would be proud to have played a part in another dogs rescue. Good job, Mark and Alan! That pound is horrible that they don't bathe a dirty dog before doing surgery.... take her to your vet and make sure her wound doesn't get infected. Ask him if you can bathe her ASAP.
ReplyDelete*to romantic love, not for.
ReplyDeleteAnd also congratulations Alan and Mark! She's adorable!
It's alright Laura and Peg, some people just look at it differently. As for replacing Mark should I have to take him to the vet and have him put to sleep, I wouldn't. I'd be too busy selling all his crap on Ebay.
ReplyDeleteAlan, first of all... I am so sorry for your loss of Sasha. You were such a help to me when I had to say goodbye to my elderly cats. Bless you. I'm thrilled to see that you've adopted little Bette. She's going to be very happy and so will Chandler. And you and Mark, of course. Isn't it funny how we've both adopted new pets in the same week...and I wanted to name my cat Betty but AP wouldn't allow it.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for all of you.
Bet-te is adorable. She's a lucky puppy, although she appears quite deserving (not just lucky). I salute you for opening up and being so generous so soon after losing Sasha, to rescue another being from certain death.
ReplyDelete("Anonymous" really needs to find a life and lose its obsession with dissing yours. Good grief!)
Looking forward to more movies and the growing saga of dear Bet-te!!
