Thursday Evening, 8:07 P.M.

Mark is in a good mood this evening. He just finished decorating his, I mean our, Christmas tree. Little does he know that over a week ago I set the DVR to record the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, football game tonight. I knew that the only way I could guarantee that I'd be able to watch that without the screen going blank, with the little banner across it telling me that all resources are being used, was to hit record before Mark monopolized the DVR. So this evening, when Mark tries to watch Peter Pan Live, while simultaneously recording The Real Housewives of Atlanta, The Taste, and whatever other drivel he wants to record, my football game will be locked in. I will be in the big fluffy chair, sipping on a vodka cocktail while eating a slice of pizza, without any worries about tomorrow. Mark will be relegated to the bedroom television, the dogs will have to suffice with peeing outside the back door during halftime, and the phone will not be answered.

Thursday Evening, 10:41 P.M.

I apparently fell asleep during halftime. Something jarred me awake and when I opened my eyes the score on the football game was Cowboys 35, Bears 7. Oh well, The Daily Show will be on soon.

  1. Very nice tree. I love the bubble lights. Sorry about the game, Alan but I need the Cowboys to stay afloat. Big bets against Eagles games...pet snacks and pics in jerseys on FB on the line.
