Photo Friday

This is $600 worth of pipe, valve, and chrome.

For sixteen years my bathtub has had a slow drip.
The cats liked it because it was always a source of fresh water when daddy was drunk and forgot to refill their water bowl. I have finally got around to getting it repaired, and now I will have to be more attentive to the cats needs.

(Russell thinks it looks like a Studebaker)

  3. To bad you didn't know someone in the business. Maybe you could have gotten it a little cheaper.

  4. Yes, those are my ugly feet.

If you really think I got taken for the job, I would tell you to ask the master plumber in Seminole County if I got taken. I actually had that plumber here sixteen years ago, and we ran out of time to do that tub and shower. I had them do my tenants first.

  6. Dennis, Your apartment was done first. New bathtub plumbing, shower plumbing, everything that needed being done was done. Then we went to the Rustic Inn for seafood with my brother, while his assistant finished what needed finishing. (he only ate hotdogs)

  10. Looks like a Studebaker bumper! Now I know why the water had to be turned off.

  11. Alan, you paid the going rate, in fact, you actually got a deal for South Florida. Anonymous 1 is clueless as to what it takes to put in that Delta single control valve in a 1950's tile wall. Until you've done it, shut your pie hole. Yes Denise, your valve was done first with a Moen Chateau single control. Anonymous 2 , where were you after Rita? I tell you where I was, driving south for 8.5 hours(normally a 3 hour trip) with 8, 5 gallon cans of gas, food, money, a chain saw, ice, water, and an able bodied family member. We traveled streets with no traffic lights, one lane, and fallen trees and trash everywhere. There were groups of people waiting for government help who did not look too friendly. We slept without A.C. in steamy south Florida with no way to call for help if we needed it. That is why we had a 38 special near-by. We climbed up on the roof and removed the fallen trees. We worked until we were bone tired. We left our businesses to help out. There is no need to go on about how I spent 2 days helping Alan make his home livable when he moved to his current address. You see, he does know someone in the business. He consulted with me on this valve project as he always does.If I can't be there, I have good advise when asked.

  12. Just one mistake Dave, it was Hurricane Wilma not Rita. Judy looked cute in that tree with the chain saw.

I got two estimates on that job. The other one was for $680 and didn't include the hose bib on the back of the house that the guy who did the job threw in for nothing.

Bears Suck, go Saints, my new team for the rest of the season.

  13. Yep - the Bears still suck and they didn't even hurt the Minnesota quarterback. Too bad. That's what most of us were watching the game to see since we knew the Bears couldn't win a game. Now to find a new team to cheer for . . . .
