u आयत

So I got the U-Verse installed yesterday. I'm not satisfied with the television part of it, but I'm saving $80 so I'll adapt. What really pissed me off is that the phone didn't work. I couldn't get any incoming calls. So I first called at&t, but after waiting for fifteen minutes I gave up and went on line. On line I was put in a chat box with a very nice fellow who obviously was somewhere in India. After an hour and a half of farting around in the at&t chat room, I was told it would be working by tomorrow. So tomorrow came, and still no incoming phone calls. Once again I was in the chat room with India. For an hour I chatted, and was apologized to over, and over again, but still... no fix.

Finally, while I was waiting for a higher level tech to come into the chat, I called at&t sales. Two things happened. I was given a $50 credit for my troubles, and I was told that I needed to call an eight hundred number to 'register' my telephone. As simple as that, I called the number and the phone worked. Something the installing tech should have told me, and something the very polite people in India should have told me.

  1. Don't be surprised if U-verse randomly blocks certain numbers. And it's impossible to fix. If this happens, your friends will have to change their number!

  3. This is the mostess awesomess thing I have ever read. From now on I'm "chatting" with comcast when my service goes down and I'm going to go f^&king apesh*t crazy typing to them.

  4. I'm sure all those polite, and apologetic phrases are programmed into the 'f' keys on their keyboards. Hostess, remember to have some restraint or they will reprimand you and threaten to cut you off the chat. Mark wanted to get in on the chatversation, but I knew that wouldn't help the situation.

  5. I'm sorry you've had such sad service...Your experiences just reinforce my now absolute commitment to never, if I live to be a thousand years, ever, sign up for U-verse. I always hit the mute button on the tv remote whenever their horribly annoying commercials begin...

I apologize for that. I understand your frustration. I apologize. I apologize. I apologize. I apologize. I apologize. I understand your frustration.

I hate it, hate it hate it. I tell them to leave out all the apologies and fix the problem. As you can tell just reading about this infuriates me.

They are being paid for their time. You are not. In fact you are paying them for crappy service!
